8. Joydens Wood Fayre
Joydens Wood Fayre
Hi!
Today we had another fundraising event planned! Due to the Queens Jubilee Bank Holliday the nearby Church in Joydens wood had organised a fayre. They very kindly said that I could have a stall there to sell my paracord bracelets.
My dad and I made this sweet stand where we transferred an image onto a block of wood using this special mix called modge podge. We left it for an hour or two then washed away the paper leaving a print of the WSJ logos on the wood. We then proceeded to drill holes in the wood so we could stand sweets up in it. This worked really well.
We arrived at the stall at 9 am to set up in preparation for people arriving at 11am. During this time we set up and made our stall look good.
At first not very many people came but at around 12 it started to pick up. The day went on and my dad got me a burger at one of the other stalls for lunch. A kind man came up and after talking about the jamboree donated £20! This was very kind of him and I was really grateful. After 2 we started packing up as that was the end time.
When we got home we counted the money and were amazed on how well we did.
We raised £104.50
I cant wait to do more fundraising like this. My favourite part of the fundraising so far has been talking to people and telling them what the Jamboree and Scouting is.
