9. Bexfest Fundraising
Bexfest Fundraising
Hi !
On the 18th - 19th of June a few of us went to Bexfest to try and raise money. Bexfest is a big festival in Danson Park. We were fortunate enough to have a stall there. We had a variety of different games. Nerf can shooting, cornholes, hook the duck and a few others.
Day 1
The first day we had 7 of us turn up ( Me, Zoe H, George, Sophia, Hannah, Arthur and Daniel). Although there weren't very many of us we still did our best to raise funds and tell everyone why we were raising money. The weather was very good in the morning but not that great in the afternoon, we didn't raise much throughout the day possibly because the entrance fee was a lot to get into the festival. On the other hand, I had a great time with the others there and we all went on some of the rides and attractions while we were waiting.
This is us when we went to the mirror maze.
At around 6:30 we made one final effort to go around with buckets and ask people for donations. This worked well. We then all packed up and went home.
Day 2
Today was very successful, we had a lot more people turn up and show us support. We arrived there in the morning, set everything up and this time tried to be even more engaging and fun than the day before. Every hour or so we sent people out to go round with the buckets and ask for donations.
On day 1 we saw that there was a radio station setup and we asked if they could give us a shoutout and instead the man said that we could have an interview! I really wanted to do it but 2 people had already been chosen. However, on day 2 we asked again for an interview and if they would like an update and he said yes!
Zoe T and I did the interview and explained who we were and what the Jamboree is. My Dad recorded it from Home. Here it is
My dad then came at round 2 and I said Goodbye and Thank yous, then we left
Many thanks
Alec :)
