34. 10 Bridges hike
10 Bridges Hike
Hi!
Today was the day that we hiked the ten bridges challenge in London. I woke up at around 8 O'clock which was a bit late as we had to be at the station by 8:30. Because everyone lives in different places we had a choice of going to 3 stations. I chose to go to Welling station as it was the closest.
There were only 3 of us at Welling station. We waited for a bit for Dean to come and then we left for London. It was really funny on the train because little George kept trying to throw Haribo's into our mouths. We then got of at Cannon street and as we were early we stopped of at the nearby Sainsburys and I bought a croissant for breakfast. It was delicious.
We then walked to Tower Hill where we all met up. We then started hiking at around 10am. We were told that we had to take it in turns as patrols to navigate. We decided to navigate last. It was fun walking together as a big group because it was a great opportunity to catch up and have a chat and a laugh.
Lots of walking later we stopped at around 11:30 and had an 1h 30min lunch break. We were allowed to go off in groups of 3 and more to get food. Arianne, Edward and I went and found a grassy area outside the London Eye. We watched these people do this performance which was funny. We had our packed lunches and talked for a bit which was nice. We then wondered back to the meeting point and waited for the leaders.
Lots of walking later..... we got caught up in an Extinction rebellion protest which was pretty funny.
We walked on until we finished at Victoria station. I had to get the train back by myself which was a new thing for me but it was exciting. Before we all left we got given certificates. We said thank you then left. It took about half an hour to get home from Victoria station. From Swanley I then walked to my Nan and Grandads house and waited for mum to pick me up.
It was a great day and was really good catching up with everyone.
